This World War II Spitfire is situated a few hundred yards from Edinburgh Airport
and is a memorial to the pilots of 603 Squadron based at nearby RAF Turnhouse during the war.

A word of warning to anyone taking a similar picture - I found myself being questioned by
the Police as it's considered an offence to take photographs in the vicinity of the airport!
I thought it best not to argue as one of the officers had a pistol and the other an
automatic rifle of some description!
