The Jordanians are very nice people. The children are unbelievably friendly. They're not shy, and they like tourists. They would wave to every tour bus that passes by. A lot of them can speak some English and would approach me to start a simple conversation or some would ask me to take a photo of them. Of course a couple of these shots were taken when they were not aware.
When I arrived in Jordan it was their 4-day national holiday. Everywhere was crowded and most kids were well dressed. The two small children I photographed in Petra (Photo 09 - 11) was a different story. They were all covered with dust. The little girl in Photo 09 and 10 was sitting with her parents who were selling souvenirs. As for the little boy in Photo 11, he said something to me that I didn't understand. I had no idea if he was playing with the stones, or trying to sell them to me. I felt so sorry for him and wanted to give him some money, but I remembered we were advised not to buy anything from the kids, because that would encourage them not to go to school (a few weeks later I heard the same thing in Morocco).
