It seems to be a trend these days that the tour companies like to include a visit to a local family or community as part of the activities. It's true that traveling is not just about sightseeing, one gets more open-minded seeing more places and meeting more people. The thing I would never forget about the design of the traditional houses in the wilderness in this region is that, the living room, bedrooms, kitchen and bathroom are all on the second floor, as the ground floor is for their cows, pigs, horses and pets. If you go to their bathroom, you have to be prepared to stay calm. You close the door and look for what you expect to see in a bathroom, but you won't find it. You'd see an opening about one foot wide, with a few pieces of board around it... and you'd look..... that's it - the "toilet bowl" is downstairs.
Don't lose your balance.
