A pink rose in the garden of the Eisenhower home in Gettysburg on a beautiful fall morning. The little visitor peeking up from behind one of the petals was a surprise bonus -- although I don't know if the relationship is symbiotic or otherwise. This particular flower bed has mainly pink roses, reflecting Mamie Eisenhower's well-known fondness for the color. The modest sun room of the house overlooks the garden -- as well as Ike's putting green.
