Prakticar 500mm F/5.6 Pentagon lens

This is a fine German made lens, F5.6 - 22, manual focus with an M42 mount that can be used with any major SLR camera today. The 4 sample pictures taken below are with the Canon EOS 20D at either f/5.6 or f/8. The auto-exposure of modern cameras (I shoot either in programme or aperture priority) makes exposure almost fool proof. The lens is very high quality multi-coated German optics. I prefer the colour saturation of this lens to my (very much more expensive) Canon 500mm f/4! This is an economical but very high quality option for entering into the world of the super telephotos.
