Although I have this labeled as an Indian Nightjar, Nigel Cleere and Krys Kazmierczak of the Oriental Bird Club http://www.indiabirds.com/obc/) have carefully scrutinized pictures of this bird and have concluded that it is in fact a female Savanna Nightjar (Caprimulgus affinis). I yield to their collective wisdom and thank OBC for bringing this to my attention.
