A few metres past the Palisade Hotel you catch a view of what was once the Walsh Bay Container Terminal.
This is yet ANOTHER attempt to move commercial shipping south to Port Botany. This area will be re-developed
as an additional up-market mix of recreational, residential, light commercial activity, presumably similar to what
has gone on at Darling Island and Pyrmont. There was an attempt to rename the precinct "The Hungry Mile" in memory
of its popular depression era name but you can't lose any moral high ground points if you give it an aboriginal name
and so "Barangaroo" is what it now must be called.(sigh!) This big open piece of ground had a massive altar built in
the middle of it for the Pope to say Mass during 2008's World Youth Day.
