The Kelso Dunes are more than 600 feet tall. They can be found near the remote community of Kelso, once an important watering stop for locomotives along the rail line. The overcast day made the landscape and old highway look almost painterly.

Nice composition and I love the colors. I love what you did with that road. Reminds me of being in a very hot place where the heat plays tricks on your eyes as you walk along a lonesome highway, trying to find gas somehwere cause your car just ran out of it. A long walk in this case.

Beautiful colors. The road goes ever onward…
Along Highway 70, in Plumas county, they used to pave with this color. It looked so beautiful running alongside the Feather River.
