great picture... and the calm and collected look in his mature eyes.. some people call them animals ..I'd call them' Beautiful People'...more loving, caring and responsible than the human species at war! animals! I named a galary for them

What a great shot Dave, and I am talking from the dog and photography enthusiast point of view. It's so nice to see some dogs still being able to do what they were designed to do, to do what they love to do. The leader is superb, what a specimen, his body language suggest confidence, and the sheep follow because he gives them no choice.
As for the photo I really enjoy the poing of view, him being much closer to the lens gives the impression of great size, the image is well composed and by turning it to monotone you have managed the bright sky very well.
A favourite, gets my vote.

he DOES look sage . . . he's seen it all, done it all . . . .it's just another day . . . one day he can retire and the younger 'pups' can guide his charges . . but he'll be CAREfully watching so that NO one crews with HIS sheep =] . . .vote!

It's always nice to see a working breed working. Great photo - the dog's expression of duty is nicely contrasted with the flock's expression of compliance. Really wonderful!

What a beautiful dog. Great low perspective of view, makes the dog look bigger and gives a feeling of countless sheep.

Very nice picture. It´s clear the authority and responsability of the dog. The crop or frame (I apologize for my English) is perfect.
