This ale house dates back to 1790 and to this day it is still a Free House not tied to any brewery. Set in the side of a steep hill not far from Box Hill, you need a good pair of lungs and legs like a mountain goat just to get to the front door ... but the effort is well worth it. Superb pub with stunning views over the Surrey hills.
