Pittsburgh, PA

I went into work an hour early, and then worked through lunch so I was able to leave early. I was driving north to hike when a buddy called my cell phone and asked to join me. I pulled over at a small park just outside the city and went for a walk as I waited for him to meet me there. In the time I waited I saw four deer, one red-tailed hawk and four wood ducks! All in about 30 minutes of walking real slow.

This is a pair of Wood ducks, Aix sponsa. Gotta just LOVE this colorful bird!

I am so happy the weather is turning and I can find wildlife a little easier. I cannot wait to see what I photograph over the warm weather season as I only began my PAD last October.

I almost said, not another bird shot!! But these are pretty darn nice looking. The colors and lines on that front one are worth the shot and my time. :) So sharp, too.
