Carnegie Museum of Natural History

Yes, I know, another repeated theme but I couldn’t resist. I took this shot seconds before it landed on the railing 5 inches in front of me. So close its wings brushed my belly! I know the face is a bit too soft, but I still like the image a lot. Please see my hawk gallery for a full story about this.

This is a juvenile Red-tailed hawk, Buteo jamaicensis.

Ron, you keep messing with this hawk, and one of these days he's going to flying away with that 2k camera of yours...lol. Seriously...an absolutely engrossing image. Almost as engaging as Cat ;) who is still my favorite subject of yours. Hawk is distant second.
