The 4th annual Panga Tournament was the biggest ever. Thanks to broad sponsorship and participation (30 pangas competed) the event was a huge success. Seas were choppy that day but it didnt rain. The crowd was big and thirsty cosuming all the beer. The fishing teams were mixed with Americans, German, British, Austrailan and other nationalities. Two of the five winners were mixed teams (American/Nica) and the rest were all Nicaraguan. Some monster rooster fish were caught (50-60 lb.), A beautifull bull Dorado took that category, the mackerel winner took that category for the second year in a row and some impressively big Stingrays won the most total weight prize. There was contrversy with the rays. Some boats claiming they were long lined which is against the rules. In the end there was not enough proof of wrongdoing so they took a prize home. One of the owners of Autonica announced his participation next year with a 30 hp Suzuki Outbord. He gave a 2.2 hp this year and two Marine batteries. It was one of the best parties of the year and the biggest event to unite the local and foreign community.
