Mudd Butts In Nicaragua

April 2007, San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua - Mudd Butts International, a teen theater group based in Telluride, Colorado is visited San Juan del Sur for its 14th Annual Spring International Theater Program. The students and their faculty use theater as a means of cross-cultural communication. They have performed in Slovakia, Costa Rica, Ireland, Bahamas, Brazil, Guatemala, New Zealand, Mexico, Viet Nam, Indonesia and Turkey.

The American students (12-16 years old) stayed with San Juan del Sur host families and spent 4 hours a day for two weeks working with 15 local school students developing a bi-lingual theater piece to share with the community.

The teens presented FREE performances open to community members of all ages as well as to visitors and travelers.

Thanks for the great photos, Dan. and a huge thanks to everyone who helped make it possible for Teak to be a part of this fantastic journey. It's the first show of hers I've ever missed, so getting the photos ahora is a real salve to my soul.

As a parent from afar thia was absolutely wonderful to see - we do plan on coming back with Erica to your lovely hotel and world. Thanks so much for posting this so fast.
I can not wait to her more about it from our daughter Erica Czajka and the rest of the folks. It looks like Mike-Sally&Kime did another wonderous show. The props are so great as are the happy faces on all the kids.
