Lac de Laoual.

Selon une légende, très célèbre en Bretagne, une ville fût engloutie par les eaux furieuses de la mer d’Iroise: La ville de Ker-Ys. Une autre légende raconte que la nuit de Noël le lac de Laoual s’ouvre et que l’église de Ker-Ys apparaît, toute illuminée..
En 1910 le compositeur francais, Claude Debussy fit de cette légende un prélude pour piano solo : «la Cathédrale engloutie».
(Dixième prélude du 1er volume des «Préludes pour Piano»).

According to a legend, very famous in Brittany, a city is gobbled up by the furious waters of the Iroise Sea : the city of Ker-Ys.
Another legend tells that the Christmas Eve the lake of Laoual opens and that the church of Ker-Ys appears, beautifully lit.
In 1910 the French composer, Claude Debussy made of this legend a prelude for solo piano: " La Cathédrale engloutie ".
