We live in Rowlett, Texas, which is about 30 minutes east of Dallas. I just had the pleasure of seeing one of these little guys on the power line above our back yard. He was the only one of his kind visiting our many bird feeders this evening. He only stayed about 10 minutes minutes. But, that may have been because it was the evening rush at the feeders. I will definitely be watching for more of these Vermilion flycatchers, they are quite beautiful. Thank you for for your wonderful site, and the great effort involved in catching our winged friends in their natural habitat. Awesome photos!

Thank you for solving a mystery for us. We have seen a family of these little birds with some red exactly as in your picture at our bird feeder. It is a new bird feeder, and in the 30 yrs we have lived here we had never seen this bird. Delighted now to be able to identify it with certitude. Appreciate you !

I saw one of these birds up close at the fryer in the Walmart Deli. He was soooo beautiful up close. Painted with a face of fire. And most of his body was fire colored. I did not see the black wings until we chased him to the back room to try to get him to fly away from the food. He was so happy churping away and friendly until then.

You're a fantastic photographer! your picture matches the bird on my windowsill perfectly.
There's a flock of these near my home in Allen. They're beautiful and have a lovely song!

I saw a flock of about 10 of these Vermillion Flycatchers, males and females, on the St. Edward's University campus a few days ago. They were feeding on grass seeds, I think, and several of them stayed around for me to gaze for a while. Your photo is beautiful and matches the colors I saw more accurately than some photos I've come across.

Greg, This is another awesome shot! I saw the bird but couldn't get close enough to get a good shot. It was nice to chat with you in BBSP on Monday. Keep the great shots coming! -Simon
