This Prothonotary Warbler was one of several that we saw during our time in the Cano Negro Wildlife Refuge in northern Costa Rica. I’m used to seeing them in the spring and summer here in SE Texas when they have black beaks. They head south shortly after their post-breeding molt when their beak loses its black color.
