Tom and me

Lai Khe basecamp, 1967. As you can see, I was better looking but Tom was a better dresser. I favored the California Casual look.

Photo courtesy of Tom Hinger (blame him for the quality, not me)

Thank you for your kind words Eva. You're right about our ages. I arrived in the Nam when eighteen, along with most our co. Being eighteen or nineteen. Army loved us, because we were so easy to train. Majority of us were raised to respond to authority and when we got into basic there was no doubt who the authority was. I will tell anyone that the Army made a man out of me and taught me responsibility for my actions and how to make decisions.

OMG all I can see is how young you all were. How sad, little more than children yourselves. Thank you for serving. HUGS
