Goody, Battle of Ong Thanh, Oct. 1967

Steve Goodman, AKA Goody. Goody never mentioned his life-saving exploits during the Battle of Ong Thanh on 17 October '67. Instead, he always pointed attention to one or more of the others of our band of brothers. He was decorated for valor and saving lives through his courage and determination. Goody was one of a kind, and his friendship was something I treasured.

Hi Can this be the same steve goodman that i met at saigon airport and both flew to singapore for rest and recreation? the year would have been 1968. I was with the New Zealad forces at Nui Dat. I had been stationed in malaysia prior to Vietnam conflict and was aware of how the locals enjoyed ripping strangers off Steve and the other US soldiers appreciated my help in taking the locals to task for over-charging. Not long after we got back to NAM Steve came to our base and came on a patrol with us. I found him a real great guy. All the best Steve from all the NZ Vietnam veterans and God bless. Bob Brown.
