5th: The Band by Rod

Brissie Oz

Rule.....Do not take portraits wiv a wide angle lens.
It will distort the perspective of the relevant body parts.
The body part closest to the lens will look too large.

I chose to break this rule to give them a quirkiness, as musicians are often seen as quirky or unusual, not normal like me & Lonnit.
Plus they're all big heads:-)

Canon EOS 350D ,Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6
1/60s f/4.0 at 18.0mm iso100 full exif

Rod thats fantastic, an excellent picture taken from an extra-ordinary angle really makes the image. What a great start to this gallery. I might as well pack up and go home! ;) ...Maurice

a very nice portrait shot Rod. this composition creates many possibilities to add text (for album cover or other promotional materials). well done. -Abstract

I like the shot but didn't know this rule. Probably because the widest angle I ever owned (back in the day of lots of gear) was a 26mm which is borderline wide angle. John

Do you have PS? I thought you have PSE, which doesn't have CM.

While I developed a Paulititus (aversion of B&W), photos like these makes me miss monochrome.

Thanks Lonnit & Aamm:-) Gawd Lonnit you're making me sound like a goody two shoes, I will lose all respect on the streets now:-) Aamm I just used the Channel Mixer (I'm lazy) with the settings on top to bottom...30..65...5 I then used the curves tool to add some contrast.

Lordy, Lordy, Lordy... what's this world coming to? Right out of the box, a smack-on-topic pic from whom? Rod????? And a good one too! Nicely taken, nicely processed, and nicely justified. You took it seriously and ya done good!!! Applause! ~ Lonnit
