Thanks for the comments, y'all. Debi - Ask anytime, for sure. I'll do what I can when it comes to the answers ":^). CJ - Thanks and you made me LOL! I love strong women! Cheers, -mikey

I like the lighting in this shot, the strong sunlight/shadows has created more interest and has added extra detail....

Nice cluttered field shot Mikey - and women do shoot these kinds of scenes - I'll have to show you my tractor shots some day and Sue Anne frequently posts them! Maybe we're manly? :-) Anyway, B&W works well for this. CJ

I am also trying to understand exposure better. Hence the question -Debi

Thanks, Tom & Debi. Tom - There are so many choices with DP, it boggles my mind. Since I recently started shooting RAW I'm learning a lot and experimenting wildly. I've tried to push the exposure a bit as Its easier for me to darken an image than it is to lighten one and the latitude that it allows is way beyond what the JPG allows. In RAW highlights seem to go a lot further before they're blown, so +1/3 stop is a mild adjustment in that direction. Just giving it a whirl (one more experiment) ":^D Cheers, -mikey

Understood. That's the reason I'm doing so much bw myself. If the color doesn't help, then get rid of it. It's nice to have the choice in digital photography. -tv

Question - Why the +ive EC ? - Debi

Thanks for the kind words, Tv & TomD. TomD - It is a manly shot, indeed! You'd never see the missus out fussing with this stuff ... would ya? Tom - The colors in this shot are quite subdued. The tractor was a faded yellow, the trees and grass are in their Fall dying phase and the board is gray. I felt that there was more interest (read 'clutter') to be had in the difference in contrasts, shapes and surfaces when seen in B&W. Thanks again, -mikey

Mikey, I like it! Good in B&W, nice busy/cluttered composition & 'manly'.
Keeps the eyes moving, I like that.

Seems you're in a BW state of mind, but I'm wondering if it improves this shot or if the colors would add to the clutter. Well framed and enough foreground detail that we dont notice the fuzzy trees in the bg, at lest not much anyway. Good one Mikey. -tv

I really like this one Michael. It has detail and it has shapes and it make your eyes wander from item to item. Good one. John
