Man and Eagle *

Although I don't do as many as I would like, I do enjoy taking photos of people going about their daily activities. This eagle was a group installation by the art class I took this spring (each student had to do a charcoal drawing of one or more of the squares)just after it was hung in an art gallery in a converted factory building. The man walking by was our instructor, who is the same age as one of my sons.

Thanks for your kind words, Shu. I was hoping that someone would notice the red touches, which (sort of) complement the greenish walls. The lighting was not good--dirty windows on the far side of the room behind me and industrial fluorescent fixtures overhead--so I had to play with it a bit in post-processing. I didn't want to use flash, hence the blurred walker due to slow shutter speed. BTW Rod, I may have done one of the border pieces (not sure), but I didn't have a hand in the eagle itself because I was in Florida tending to my mother when that was done.

Mary Anne"s EYE brings it all together, Rod!!! That's part of her talent for grabing these "people" shots! (Not everyone can do it. Certainly not me!) Everyhing has come together in such an interesting way here. The red piece on the left and ladder on the right are nice accents, too. Shu

You should shoot more people Mary Anne as the few you have posted are excellent. I would have preferred the bloke to be sharply defined for a balanced shot but we do understand your situation of only having a P&S camera:-)hehe.
Which squares did you do Mary Anne? It’s great how it all came together init.
