I must say... I didn't realize this was an Isopic. You must be venturing out of your comfort zone...good for you! Something interesting I noted was the horses Iris. I don't think I've ever seen (or noticed) the shape of their Iris(s)... like a cat's but sideways...kind of like a frown. (maybe to detract from the wiskers, you can color the eye tomake the Iris stick out more..horse with colored contacts... lol) -Byron

Well I like it Iso, it is a nice step away from the usual (and very amazing) high key studio shots. I like the B&W treatment and also the DOF you've got with this nice zoom - another new lens?! Business must be good :) I like the 'glint' of a reflection in the horses eye and the overall mood of the shot - could be a postcard or some kind of card, if you see what I mean. NIce. Paul Donovan.

You're a very talented photographer Lonnit & your willingness towards receiving critiques will take you deep into the art of photography.

amm, my un-Australian reply to you is in the close up thread. By this I mean, I remained polite mate.

A good thing? Here? I thought the purpose of these challenges was to make us all better photogs. What's the point in posting our work if we don't get constructive critism? I've been begging for critisism - there's just not ENOUGH of it happening here! The more the better. Compliments don't help me learn, although they are encouraging. Where I really learn is from the no-holds-barred critiques!

As for this shot? Honestly Iso, to me it's pretty ho-hum. I was quite surprised it was yours. For the record, I'm settling on the whiskers too. It's thrilling to see that even the Great Iso can shoot a dud every once in a while, er, um, I mean every ONCE!!!! LOL!

Hard to tell without seeing it but I wonder if this shot would work better in colour. I found myself looking around the shot for a point of interest & settled on the whiskers:-) In B&W the eye seems nondescript for me.
