Points very well taken... this Photoshop "student" will give it a try. I appreciate your suggestions and, in my mind's eye, see already how these will make for a better picture.

Or, if you're like me and have no idea what all those numbers mean, you could increase the contrast and sharpening a bit. I've been amazed at what just a little more contrast can do for a photo.

Sometimes cropping & post processing can turn what looks an ordinary shot into an extraordinary shot. The basics of a really good shot are here, but the shot is too bright & soft. I think if you crop out to just left of the tree to get rid of the bright background, if you have a curves tool in software then darken the shot with it & give it two separate USMs of 100-point3-0 You might get the extraordinary shot that we all search for.
