Maracuyá *

All I can say is that I've made some delicious juice from the fruit of this vine :)

Byron, would please tell us what is the method for making maracuya juice that you used in Brasil?
Nugar05-Nov-2004 23:37
Great; it does sound the same as in Spanish then. And tastes delicious in any language ;)

Humberto,

Beautiful image. Very well done. Congratulations. And, err, Yes, in Brasil we say Maracujá where the 'j'' sounds like in jazz and 'á' sounds like 'ah'. Strong accent on 'ah'. Maracujá.

I guess it sounds the same. Here also the accent is in the last a. Does the j sound as a y?

In Brasil it's called Maracuja. (accent on the last a (pronounced ah) -Byron

Thanks, Don. It indeed is a beautiful flower. And the vine just keeps producing them. They open for a day at around 9am each day.

I've loved this flower since you first posted a photo some time ago. Beautiful creature beautifully captured.
Nugar02-Nov-2004 11:21
Do they call it maracuya also in Brasil?
Guest 02-Nov-2004 05:54
It's been a while since I have had Maracuya juice. I used to have it all the time in Brasil...scraping out the seeds... blending...straining water through it to get the juice from the pulp around the seeds...Mmmmmm! Refreshing. -Byron

Stop trying to rub it in. When I saw this picture before, you made me want to shoot fruit on a tree. All I could find was an apple!
One of the best pictures I've seen - great!

I still love the contrasts in this one, Nugar. I must be in a rut :-) Great shot. -Philio Vance

Thanks Mark! The vine itself is still loaded with flowers. It is amazing how long they keep flowering and producing fruit.

What a set of colors on this baby! Great shot. Almost surreal. Mark

Nah, leave the broccoli as is. Notice the dates. I've been learning ;) You should look at the first picture I submitted to the challenge ever...

Bloody awesome Nugar you cracked it with this one mate :-) This shot would make people think digital has heaps of dynamic range so it can be done & you did it. Now get to work on the broccoli:-)
