Three excellent pictures but all of them to seem to be focusing on their respective subjects. -Doug

Forget about any cropping - its great as it is. The dark areas go to highlight the central image. Also its not an example of artificial use of OOF

Well, you are all right.
I sat there crop on , crop off, crop on, cropp off and then asked for another opinion first it was crop on, then it was crop off and then I stuck with crop off.
Freshly picked from the garden i was taking sharp focus shots of the roses floating in a bowl and then on review I saw this one and used it.

I agree with Mary Anne about cropping the left background off and I would also crop a bit off the bottom to bring the middle of the rose off center top to bottom as well as right to left. Absolutely gorgeous soft image - I can never seem to get my flowers to look this delicate. Maybe I need to get them more OOF like this! :-) CJ

The soft focus is very nice with this rose, emphasizing the delicacy of the flower. Rather than vignetting, I think I would crop enough off the left side to eliminate the background.

This is really beautiful! the lighting, the oof. Excellent! Now this is just me, but i may try to viginette the left upper corner a little bit more ... my eye seems to wander to that area. But, i may be full of baloney. Will be interesting what others think. jano
