For the Birds

We've had several bird collisions with this window over the years, some fatal,
and the male Hairy Woodpecker that struck it last January and died was the last straw.

I purchased some ultraviolet "Bird Tape" from the American Bird Conservancy.
It's highly visible to birds and breaks up the reflection on the window,
so they are more likely to avoid striking it. We'll see how it works.

I have a set of 5 huge floor to ceiling window panes in the rear of home were in now, we have lost countless birds, mainly sparrows and finches- sad part of reality and how were taking over their space.... I may need this tape at my new home in 3 weeks.

Good luck.

We tried the bird tape but still had issues. We finally ended up putting vertical bars on the window and that definitely did the trick. Now the birds are safer and so are we! I hope the tape works for you.

What a great idea, it's a shame for them to perish like that. V
