Hi Tina, Please correct the ID of this butterfly. The Cyrestis maenalis rizali is found in Mindanao. It is almost identical with this one from Mt. Makiling, the correct name of which is the Cyrestis maenalis maenalis. I have the printed photo of the one we took from Mindanao, but can't find the file right now. The curved lines at the hind wings are a bit different. Sorry for the wrong ID. telyds

THE NAME IS Cyrestis maenalis rizali. It is from the Nymphalidae family. Please state also the location where you photographed the butterfly and the date.

It is a work of art, Tina- by the Master Creator and the gifted steward. Keep shooting butterflies. Mapwings have many artforms. I mean, there are many kinds. Very interesting...they amuse me so much in every forest visit.
