I couldn't decide whether to remove the light post or not - but now it's gone...
Thanks for the comments!

Good shot of the old RR crossing sign Penny! The b&w shows the age better than the sepia but the light post is a little distracting in this version.

I'm glad you like this Bob, I do too and wish I had taken it! :-D CJ

MUCH better now, Penny. Now the dark background highlights the subject. Well thought out and completed. ~Lydia

I just checked out the sepia version and I like this one better. The signals stand out better here, the background is not distracting as to me seems the case with the sepia version.

This appears sharper as well and I have noticed that same affect in some other sepia vs B & W images. If the tone is intense it sometimes masks the boundaries where the luminous difference is only slight. The result seems to be a contrast reduction which tends to soften the image.

Having said all of that , I like this CJ ~ Regards Bob

I hope this is better. I put the sepia version in pending.

With the rust and the faded lettering on the sign, this is definitely reminiscent of times past. Good job.

Looks old to me, Penny. I like it. The composition is good and it's interesting with all of the textures and shapes. I find it a bit dark on my monitor, though. But, maybe you meant it that way... I'll hush now. ~Lydia
