Ya, I noticed that too. I may head back over there sometime and get a better DOF shot. I tried to do something in Photoshop but couldn't quite get the right look. Gonna have to do it in camera.
Interesting structure Alan, the bricks look to be stepping stones to climb the structure?
The background tree foliage is very rich and deeply toned, it might be interesting to have shot this wide open so as to reduce the DOF and isolate the structure a little more. Or perhaps apply a mask and some selective fading/desaturation of the background. (But that is just me thinking out loud!)
