Thanks, Lonnit! I shot some with the 15mm this afternoon, street scenes out the car window a la Lonnit! I haven't had a chance to look at them on the computer but am pretty excited about what I shot. It was fun! Thanks for the pep talk! ~Sharon

I believe the dark edges around the main building are just from the roof and window trim. On the next building, it's just the roofline. The tall building after that - it seems to be the roofline, and then maybe there is a dark building on the far side of it that makes it look like a dark edge on that one.

As for advice, you've not got a full frame sensor, so you should be getting wonderful results with the lens. I adore my fisheye, but hardly use it. They're wonderful for landscapes. I also love them in the city, as they make everything look so wide open.

Here, the Trump building in Columbus Circle looks like it stands all alone. (this was on the 5D)

This congested area looks so open as well. (this was on the 5D)

Here, the boardwalk at the beach truly is wide open. The lens emphasizes the distance of the boardwalk. (this was on the 10D)

Same here, on the beach. (this was on the 10D)

Now, of course, don't forget about it's wonderful qualities as a character portrait lens!

When you just want openess and freedom in your images, the fish is fantastic. I'm thinking of getting a super wide too. But that will wait. My next lens is the 70-200L, which I plan on getting in the spring.

Just go shoot with it and have a blast! It's the most fun of all the lenses. :)

This is so dramatic, Lonnit! I really like it. There does seem to be a dark edge around the buildings. I got the 15mm fisheye for Christmas but have hardly used it as I am not sure how to make a decent picture with it, do you have any advice? ~Sharon

Thanks, Nico. I think I've only used the fisheye once on the 5D. It was my favorite lens on the 10D; i cropped much better on that camera. It takes much more work to get a usable image out of the 5D with this lens. ~ Lonnit

Yes, I like it. Great colours, dramatic composition, crop to enhance / reinforce the tall structure. Works for me! Regards jnconradie
