Thanks so much, Nico! I don't know, your hornbill isn't going to win any beauty contests either, and it is a good shot! This guy I bugged enough taking pictures that he finally gave me the evil eye and the shot I really wanted! The long thing in front is called a snood and he can make it as short as his beak when he wants. It will also turn bright red if he is really annoyed, or mating. So, I guess I didn't make him too mad, or he didn't find me in the least bit attractive, lol! ~Sharon

Sharon...! And I thought I had found a terribly ugly-looking bird (the ground hornbill). Yours beat mine by miles. It is a superb photograph. Wow. Wow. Wow. Regards ~jnconradie

Thanks so much, Traveller! No offense taken to your question but, no, I am not a Shaker. There are only four of them left and the two women are elderly. I simply live near a preserved Shaker village that has a wealth of photo ops! Here is an article about the Shakers that you may find of interest:http://www.boston.com/news/globe/magazine/articles/2006/07/23/the_last_ones_standing/?page=full. ~Sharon

Wow, this is a great portrait! And talk about colors. BTW, are you, Sharon, a Shaker?
No disprespect meant by the question....but I was curious because you shoot a lot of Shaker stuff and...and maybe you have the same clean simplicity in your photography.

Best Wishes, Traveller
