This was shot with a 100-300 which actually is a good range. I have also shot some with my 400 and it can sometimes be difficult to keep on the bird. This shot was cropped at least 50%. I suggest you stick with it and try cropping. You might be surprised at what you get.
Great Osprey image Harvey! I tried getting a shot of an Osprey in its nest for the last challenge on "Leading Lines", but all I was able to get was the nest as it flew out of range. :-( I have the Canon 70-300 IS and there's no way I could get this close a shot! Nice sharp image and I like how the pose suits the square. CJ

Traveller, at least you're looking. Thanks. I enjoyed yours as well and hope that one day I can catch a hawk in flight. The ospreys around here are fairly available, particularly at nesting time.
