Thanks Techo. No need to be sorry Lonnit, I agree that a little more detail on the face would compliment. The background is just trees and brush, and the sunlight was very strong that day. So, in keeping the details in the hat, and especially the little medalian, I thought the contrast added to the pic. Since it was taken last year, I would have to hunt the orig down to see what details in the face I could salvage. Obviously my PS skills have improved since last year. I can't deny that the "chopped out" area really bugs me. I don't need to see any detail in there, but I do need to see that the rest of the face exists. It looks like his face is missing and you can see some twinkles of light from the background behind him. It would have been a good entry for the Surrealism & Illusions challenge, but other than that, it really just doesn't work for me. A bit of fill card bounce would have done wonders here.
