Thanks for the comments, folks. I agree with yours, Lonnit, 100%. The truth is, this shot is TOTALLY a snapshot. I'd just purchased the D60 and was still just snapping everything around trying to figure out how to use it. Note: ISO1000 and a flash, duh! If I were to shoot this pic today I'd move some things around, etc. I just put it in the exhibition cuz it's definitely on topic, it makes me laugh and I thought it might do the same for someone else ":^D -mikey

Nice capture of a fun moment...cat spleeping places are so inventive. I particularly like Lonnit's suggestion to burn down the lower corners. -Michael
Is that your morning bowl of cat chow? Is he a basket case? Sorry, bad, I know, but couldn't resist. The calander bugs me a bit b/c I'm drawn to it yet it has no significance to the story. The open book(?) on the left is also a bright spot of distraction. Be careful about what's in the frame. The rest of the background is fine. If it were mine, I'd drag down the lower 1/4 of the curve to give the image some richness and more contrast, and probably even burn in the front corners a tad as well. The composition is nice, which is keeping it from falling over the edge into snapshot territory, so the suggestions I speak of will take off any snapshotty edges and bring it clearly into photograph territory. Nice catch. :) ~ Lonnit
