Can you see C3PO in the background? I just noticed... -- Victor

This suggests angle to me much more now that you have changed it Victor. It's an impressive image.

OK. Here is a completely different crop, this time chosen to emphasize the triangle rather than the rectangle. I also reworked the colors to subdue the background, especially the blue. I like this better. What do you think? -- Victor

I suppose a tighter crop vertically might work, but I definitely need the 4 dominant reeds framing the dragonfly in the picture. That was the whole point. -- Victor

What is bg? Maybe I should have shot with a different aperture. This image really struck me when I saw it. And the dragonfly stayed put long enough for me to compose it the way I wanted. The curve is obvious, and in my composition serves primarily to point out the subject: the dragonfly. The dragonfly is framed within some bullrushes. To me it looks like the dragonfly is using its wings and abdomen to sort of measure the bullrushes around it. Cropping tighter would not work because it is the angles in the bullrushes that are part of the primary focus of the shot.

In doing this challenge, I wanted to stay away from manmade objects, such as architecture, paper, boxes, etc. Those are too obvious. I also wanted to experiment with making something normally blurred into the background be the main subject. I think the image would be nearly as strong without the dragonfly present. The dragonfly serves as a sort of exclamation point, holding out his wings as if to say, "see the angles!"

At least that was where I was going with this. I'm not sure why the blue is so vivid. That was unintentional. I may try to rework this somewhat.

Agree with others...the bg is a bit over-powering. - RK

Have to agree wtih Brent. A closer crop might be more appealing. -Cat

Very nice image. Suggests "curve" more than angle to me, but I see some angles there as well.
