Dorys - apologies for ignoring your question: No, it's not an action, just used the Grid function in PS and drew the lines with a 2 pixel pencil.

Mr B: Intentional? More like essential I'd say!
Shu/Micheal - thank you.

Phil, this really is a wonderful piece as was your first version (my favorite of the two). Frankly, I feel the first rendition was as on topic as this rendition. To my mind, the topics are a stepping stone to get the ball rolling. You've taken the topic and flown with it, kudos. -Michael

Just great! Best in show, I'd say. (....well, so far) shu

Phrankly Phil, this is just phantastic. Apart from your somewhat wrinkled knees [*sMiLe*], just about perfect. The lower missing piece, specifically its southern peninsula, is a tad suggestive. Intentional?
Vikas Malhotra11-Dec-2005 14:53
WOW Phil, this one is way toooooooooo cooooooooooool :-)

Cheers, Vikas

PS: Glad all is fine 'down under'. :-D

...and I really like the masterpiece :o))
arminb11-Dec-2005 09:02
Brilliant!

This is great, both the original and the "rework". Phil, I think you're a star!
Canon DSLR Challenge10-Dec-2005 11:12
Thanks all. TBH, I preferred the original, but do feel this is more on-topic, so I guess it'll stay.
Olaf - yes, thank you for pointing that out to those who *may* have missed it...
Grant - much though I respect your medical background, I've double-checked and everything is fine, thanks!

Thank you so much for adding to this to make it on topic! It's absolutely wonderful now! ~ Lonnit

I very much like the *out of the box* thinking, and for the record preferred the previous version.
Guest 09-Dec-2005 23:31
I still think it is fungus.
Guest 09-Dec-2005 17:26
Grant and :-D, you need to pay more attentions the winkie-piece is dicreetly put upside down...
On a different note, I have to agree with Fly - liked it better before and thought it was a creative interpretation of the theme.
Guest 09-Dec-2005 17:17
I like the original and thought it was on topic.
Canon DSLR Challenge09-Dec-2005 15:26
Some controversy! I love it! Phil...this in my mind fits the theme as is. Obviously I don't want to spark any debate! It is a *collection* of images that are now linked. Before (when pieces of the original were missing) I wasn't sure it was a collection of images...Ok...with that out the way...

1) Get thee to a doctor...you have advanced problems with your winkie!

2) once done with that, have a drink and congratulate yourself on a very creative idea!!! This is goood!
:-D
Canon DSLR Challenge09-Dec-2005 14:01
The challenge states: "To present a collection of images that are linked or form a series". It doesn't specifially say they have to be individual photos.
This picture is now a "collection of images", even the smaller images have been taken from the larger one.
As always, a matter for interpretation. And not at all an excuse for me to stand naked in front of the camera. Oh no... :)

Guest 09-Dec-2005 13:16
i think it fits but you may have a fungal infection. that green...
Canon DSLR Challenge09-Dec-2005 12:18
I still don't think dividing up 1 picture into several was the point. -- Jeannie
Canon DSLR Challenge09-Dec-2005 10:05
Is this more on-topic now?
Phil
Canon DSLR Challenge09-Dec-2005 02:05
Phil, I have to agree with Dorys here. While it is a nicely executed, I don't think it follows the theme. -- Jeannie (jburly)
Canon DSLR Challenge08-Dec-2005 18:18
Hmmm, Dorys you may have a point. I was thinking in terms of "links" rather than the guidelines David set...
I'll consider removing it if others consider it off-topic.
Phil
Guest 08-Dec-2005 17:26
Ok, very interesting, but I'm not sure it is on topic. This isn't a series of photographs, unless you shot each and every puzzle piece individually? :-)

BTW, is that an action?
Canon DSLR Challenge08-Dec-2005 10:26
Grant - I can't decide whether I'm flattered or worried that you like this so much :)
Suggestion noted and implemented. Thanks.
Phil
Guest 08-Dec-2005 00:34
Minor suggestion though...how about a drop shadow where the missing pieces are to make it look a little more like a hole?
Guest 08-Dec-2005 00:33
Phil,

This is my favorite thing you've ever done.
Guest 07-Dec-2005 17:19
too funny.
