Minimal Town

EXPLANATION: What was my idea here? Well...I took the dog out this morning for its duty and turned around to face the house...I noticed that the siding of the house looked cool against the blue sky... so... I ran back int he house and grabbed the camera....with minimalism in mind I thought to myself...how can I get the bare minimum representation of the scene while still capturing the essence of the shot. I also thought the constrast between white and blue was quite nice (almost greek looking)...I grabbed the siding shaddows (black triangles) because I thought they made a nice simple minimal repeating patterd...the combination of lines and shadows were a minimal representation of the house ...rotated 90 degrees for viewing plasure and i was relatively pleased!

David - I like this shot, but (*) I feel the border completely distracts from the image. I would love to see the photo bigger, instead of a large white border. Also, I would probably look at removing the small cloud in the middle of the shot.

I just think that the repeating geometry of the architecture would be enhanced without those elements. But that's just me & by my photos, you can tell that this minimalism thing is all new to me. :) -- Jeannie (jburly)

Thanks folks! I think this fits the theme much better than f*rk does...The image has a certain apeal to me...but leaves me wondering if the composition and photo itself is interesting...is the minimalism thing about good balance & composition? Does the balance of shapes work for this photo? Does the orientation and border...is this the most minimal form? Should it be more/less representative...

I tried to grab the essential geometries!

Cheers,
-:-D
