Snow*

I guess this is the ultimate in empty space. lol I actually took this picture to demonstrate how little contrast is actually needed for our canon dslr's to focus. So many people make the argument to people that their focus problems are a result of not enough contrast. Well, this shot of snow on my stoop was captured using autofocus. This image is only resized and slight sharpening.

Well I see I'm in good company! LOL! I took the same shot! My snow had more texture though. LOL! ~ Lonnit

Hi Alex, I'm kind of just having fun with this one. This is not a work of art by any stretch. There is a little texture, though. you should be able to see the shadows and little dips in the snow. If not, you may want to adjust your monitor. This shows about as much texture as can be expected from snow. lol

To tell you the truth I do not see much of a texture here

heheh Olaf and Cindy. Now really, this is about how I shoot my snow shots intentionally. To follow the RAW logic, I'm stuck because this is a jpg shot. I could brighten this up no problem. However, had I shot this for proper exposure initially, I would have lost all the great texture. lol It's not out of focus, but it is underexposed, just how I like them. :-)

Hey Jim, if you had shot this RAW and exposed to the right maybe it would of had a subject ;) Cindy

Didn't people argue that this is actually out of focus and underexposed? Let me tell you, I've seen better shots from you, LOL. --Olaf.dk
