Good shot, good subject (IMHO) - Jono

I just noticed the EXIF info states 99.99m for focus distance. This was taken with a 50mm lens. Obviously, that information is incorrect. It was actually more like 4 meters or so. Does the 50mm f/1.8 II lens even transmit distance data to the camera? -- Victor

On this shoot, unlike my normal practice, I shot almost entirely in Jpeg. I did this because of the limited memory on hand and the large number of shots I anticipated making. Not having done sports photography before, I wasn't sure what to expect. Here's a link to the unprocessed original:http://www.pbase.com/victorengel/image/34358582

You have to remember that everything was happening very quickly. It seemed like I had about a nanosecond to compose. The framing was done mostly by the camera. In post processing, I also cropped a little bit from the right and bottom. -- Victor

IMO this this is the strongest of the 3 by far. I also like the failed assist on your site. But here there is a story that involves the whole frame-the guys watching and her body. Cropping her was a great call! A crop at the time of the shot or afterward?
