Lithops *

Austin, TX

Lithops is a desert plant that usually has two
leaves at a time, about the size of a dime each.
They grow close to the ground and look very much
like rocks. This is a closeup of one of the leaves.

I wasn't going for abstract so much. My goal in shooting this for the graphic category was to emphasize bold colors, and sharp and clearly defined shapes with vivid detail. Dictionary definitions also refer to writing. While this picture doesn't look so much like writing, the shapes of the colored areas, especially the red, reminded me of writing. -- Victor

I love this plant-such as strange creature. This image is certainly abstract, but is it graphic? Victor, how do you define graphic?

Interesting plant! To me this looks like something in a red foam bath! --Olaf.dk
