The Eligible gallery is for images captured with a Canon DSLR during the Challenge period and subject to rules outlined in the official Challenge thread. The Exhibition gallery is for images taken at any time with any camera.
I am stressing the second half in the word of our passion in this challenge.
I would like to see the galleries fill with photos possessing an especially graphic quality.
A graphic photograph, what is that? Often it translates into simplified, abstract or
semi-abstract compositions - sometimes with high contrast and/or bold colors.
Likewise, repeating elements are often found in photographs categorized as graphic.
But who am I to tell you what makes a photograph graphic? What I am hoping for,
is for you all to help me define - through the photographs you submit - what makes
a photo worthy of being described as graphic!
I am also hoping that we in our search for a definition, will have lively discussions along the way
- besides about what is graphic and what is not - about composition, form, color and balance.
What I do not want, is pure graphics - I do want PHOTOgraphs and they should be taken from
our three-dimensional, natural or human-made environments. I would also like them to have
a "seen-by-the-photographer" kind of quality. Taking a photograph of a two-dimensional
graphic may produce a graphic photograph, but is not what I am asking for.
