I've done that Mini Maglite lighting technique, too, Pops. Sometimes simple is best. I need to get back to that. Well shot! -dtallakson

Thanks all.

Mary Anne, My lighting set up in my "studio" is rather simple. It's a Mini Maglite flashlight. I find that with long exposure times I have an amazing amount of control of the lighting. That means long exposures, small aperture and low ISO. I've always been a proponent for using the lowest aperture possible. I'll increase aperture only if I have no other options.

Clever idea and great result. Regards, Michael

A striking photo...and a good take on the topic. I'm really curious, however, about why you used the settings you did. 25 seconds??? Did you try other combinations of ISO, aperture, and shutter speed?

You sure have a thing (good thing :-) ) for Crayons. Well done.

Stunning, Pops. What a nice follow-up - and just perfect for what I had mind with "transitions". Well done!

Yes like the shades of the crayons. Very creative.
