For The Love of Cream

An oldie but still my favorite. Had the pleasure of taking care of our cat's kittens for a few months, and this one for almost a year. This is the calico one. Wanted to keep her but she has a nice home now with a neighboring family. Story was (put shortly as possible)... barely a year old she escaped from home and was missing for 3-4 weeks in the middle of winter time last year. We put up fliers near the local post boxes. One day I notice one of the posters were taken down so I went back to put up a new one. While I was busy doing that a car stopped and I assumed the lady coming out needed to drop off some mail. Turns out she asks if this was my cat, I said Yes of course, and asked if they were sure if was my cat. Unmistakably so, she had a mark on her nose. They said they had found her about a mile away. The kitty made some friends with the people feeding her hotdogs but was living outside! Turns out this nice lady and her family were my neighbors that recently moved in and we haven't met prior. So it was a happy ending for all. Would've been 100% happy if I got to keep her though ;)

Shu, Lydia and Penny, thanks for the kind comments :)

Shu, I guess the cup went through the same wormhole that all our missing socks and pens go through but the cup escaped ;) It's a really good mug.

Good story, Techo. And the photo is adorably simple and wonderful.

I'm glad she found a good home. AND you got Shu's cup that ran away from her. Life is good. !Lydia

p.s.
I sometimes tend to have the mama cat at home, on and off now. She needed extra attention for a health issue and she's all well for a few months now. It's just hard to let go and give her back. LOL

Thank you, Roberta and Sharon :)
I'm glad you like the shot. I noticed the cat liked to get into my cup if I'd be having english tea and loved the way her whole head almost fit in it. So I kinda set this up by putting cream in the cup and waiting for her to come and get it.

I left out a few little details of the story. Only now realizing they play a bigger part. The cat who gave birth was our office cat, we saved her from a not so good future. She was our/my first cat ever so we didn't spay her in time. An outie/indoor cat we fed, he got in through the drop ceiling the rest is history ;) So to make sure the kittens where safe my family took the mama and kittens home with us. Not all members of my family were particularly fond of cats or animals living at home but we did make them a comfy home in our big basement. I tried to keep the calico as long as I could promising I'd sooner or later find a home for her, but her running out in the early morning while I was still sleeping... she had a few hours head start and we couldn't find her that day. Normally if she snuck out and I knew of it I'd easily find her. Once she was found three weeks later, well there was no option of taking her back home and the family that found her really warmed up to her in just a few days.

Wonderful shot and wonderful, almost, story, Techo! I love your bold, graphic style and this image is an excellent example of it. I think they should have given you the cat back, I don't understand why they didn't. ~Sharon
