Yellowjacket -- and pair of Phymata sp. (upper right)

at the farm

I shot this photo of the hornet without really paying much attention
to the pair of Ambush bugs (Phymata sp.) seen in upper right
corner of the photo. After having a closer look, it seems likely that
the pair might be positioning themselves to attempt to catch and kill
the hornet. At this point in the season, I'm beginning to find many
Ambush bugs with bee and wasp or hornet victims.

I don't really know what would happen as I don't use pesticides around my place.

I think it is hornets that are building a nest in an unused birdfeeder. I have heard they are aggresive. If I spray, will any survivors come near the same spot and try to re-build?
