Rhagoletis striatella

found in meadow behind the house at the farm.
I first noticed it because it looked remarkably like
a Zebra Jumping spider. I had to look at it closely
before I realized that it was actually a fly of some kind.
It even seemed to move like a jumping spider -- short hops
changing direction. The wings look like a jumping spiders
raised forelegs. There's some info about similar fruit flies on
the websites http://www.ento.vt.edu/Fruitfiles/AppleMaggot.html
and http://www.ento.vt.edu/Fruitfiles/BlueberryMaggot.html
