Red pines on peninsula

Fred Schueler's notes:
Limerick Forest. UTM 18TVE 483.2 694 44.87812N 75.65388W. TIME: 0955.
AIR TEMP: -20 ca, sunny, windy. HABITAT: Typha latifolia wetland, Alnus
fringe, Pinus plantation on ridge. 2004/005/c, visit () (E). LFAC,
walk. WAYPT/059, tip of Pine Plantation Peninsula into wetland. Walked
down here to see what potential this site would have for a boardwalk as
the tip of a tongue of Pine plantations into a wetland - but there's not
much open water, no Beaver activity, and probably too long a trail
through the plantions to reach it from the Parsnip clearing, or from a
new parking area built on the end of the track E of there.

The Pinus resinosa (Red Pine) are reduced to a few smallish stragglers
here, but along the ridge they don't achieve more than moderate size.

other sizes: small medium large original auto
