recommended ascent and descent route starts in 'V' between Harrison & Langdales holding west side of Dungeon Ghyll chasm; when this evens out cross to east of Pike How and descend close to cascading streams. On Ascent, pick up bottom from track above filelds between Old and New Dungeon Ghyll Hotels and follow NT diversion signs. The normal main route rising direct to and from Stickle tarn is just right of centre. You have to keep above ravine on extreme right and one more to its east with 'interesting' rock climbing, if traversing back to Pye Howe start.
