Muileann 1 (the mill on the loch)

Part of a series of 6. The mill is most unusual having both an inner and outer wheel position and in the 'window' sockets for a vertically axled gear wheel.

Please look at the other pics if interested in mills and any info on this type of drive would be welcome.

Beautiful capture of that wonderful stone work..some of it it looks covered with lichen and the ruins seem overcome with the greenery...great eye for a good find...V

I like these tumbled down buildings. We came across quite a few too, but this is paticularly nice in the woods.

Very nicely captured, Chris. I like how the trees and greenery frame the mill. It seems like such an unlikely setting for it as well.
