A last minute to sun, sea and birds brought us to The Gambia from November 29 to December 6, 2014.
As always, we rented a car and explored the area mostly on our own. Because it was initiated
more as a relaxing holiday in stead of hardcore birding, we decided to only explore the coastal area.
We visited famous places like the Kotu area, Brufut Woods, Tujereng, Tanji and Abuko,
but also travelled south to Kartong and inland to Faraba Banta, Bonto Forest and Makasutu.
We hired Ebrima Korita as a birdguide two times: to Brufut Woods (main purpose Long-Tailed Nightjar)
and to Bonto Forest (main purpose White-Spotted Flufftail). This turned out just fine.
Besides that, we also hired a photo hut along the Faraba Banta Bushtrack from Han Bouwmeester.
All photos in this gallery are also included in the “Photo Archive” gallery on the main page.
Hopefully you will find what your looking for.
